Hi, I'm Nelda. I have loved quilts since my grandmother made a quilt for me when I was nine years old. That quilt is one of my most-cherished possessions.
My mother made most of my clothes when I was growing up, and she taught me to sew when I was a little girl. In junior high school, I began making my own clothes. However, over the years my interests changed from garment-making to quilt construction. I have been piecing quilts for several years, but I grew tired of wrestling multiple layers of fabric and batting in order to quilt on my domestic sewing machine. In 2015 I tried my hand at long-arm quilting, renting time on a machine in order to finish my first queen-size quilt. In 2016 I bought an Innova computerized quilting system, and by early 2017 I was ready for my first customer. I accept appointments at my home-based studio in Bardstown, Kentucky, or I can come to your quilt guild meeting. Please contact me to learn how I can help you turn that quilt you want into a reality. |
